“if I want something, I’ll do what it takes to make it happen.”
Jake’s Dance Factory, is the studio where the sixteen-year-old Gianni discovers his passion for dance. That passion runs deep and when he goes to study drama and creative writing at Kingston University in London a few years later, dance continues to intrigue him. In London he joins hip hop / contemporary dance company Avant Garde Dance and starts an international career. In 2011, he makes a name for himself during the liveshows of So You Think You Can Dance and gets invited to perform in the SYTYCD theatre tour. Gianni becomes increasingly fascinated by the work behind the scenes and decides to focus on choreographing and the art behind the dance. He creates Gianni Grot & Company, a dance company with which he would like to collaborate with musicians and other artists. Gianni Grot & Company is currently based in Amsterdam IJburg, where there has been agreed upon a long term partnership with the production company RIGHTABOUTNOW INC.
